Kristin Qui
Kristin Qui is a climate policy expert based in Trinidad and Tobago, currently working with the Climate Analytics Climate Diplomacy Team, focusing on Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Kristin's expertise extends to international climate agreements, having closely monitored the Article 6 negotiations under the UNFCCC Paris Agreement during her tenure with the Environmental Defense Fund in Washington, D.C. She was instrumental in developing the International Civil Aviation Organization's Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).Prior to joining Climate Analytics, Kristin engaged with the Global Island Partnership and UNDP Barbados & the OECS, advocating for climate change and sustainable development initiatives in SIDS.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from St. John’s University and a Master's in Environmental Management from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where she honed her focus on international climate policy.Kristin has contributed to several important publications, including analyses on SIDS' access to the Green Climate Fund and strategies for enhancing national climate policy ambition through the Global Stocktake. Her works also address the implications of policy decisions for international crediting under the Paris Agreement, providing a deep dive into the operational, methodological, and strategic elements necessary for crafting strong Green Climate Fund proposals and meeting investment criteria.
